ABOUT:
The Water Festival is an annual event designed for families to emphasize the importance of drinking water in communities.
Activities include:
Pioneer Water Race – Plugging the Water Leak – Community Water Race – Pump House Relay – Rate of Flow – Envirotwister – Off I Go Obstacle Course – Water Jeopardy – NRCS Rain Simulator – Tours of Hopkinsville Water Treatment Plant – Ground Water Model – Water Pollution – Rain Barrel Construction – Rain Gardens – Sinkholes – and much more.
Jeffers Bend partners with many groups to make this event possible including Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority, USDA Natural Resources, Kentucky Division of Water, Hopkinsville Storm Utilities, Christian County Conservation District, University of Kentucky, Kentucky State University, Army Corps of Engineers, Community Development Services, Pennyrile Area Development District, Hopkinsville Fire Department, Kentucky Association of RC&D Councils, Kentucky Rural Water Association, WHOP, WKDZ, Kentucky New Era, local cities, schools and churches.
